In 2006, Frank , a true nerd at heart who loved all things electrical and anything that involved advanced computing, decided to embark on a new journey. Frank was the kind of guy who could get lost for hours tinkering with gadgets and solving complex equations just for fun. Driven by a passion for renewable energy and a desire to make a difference, he founded AWS Solar.
Frank navigated the maze of regulations with his tech wizardry, getting all the necessary licenses to operate in California by 2007. AWS Solar was officially in business, ready to bring solar power to the homes and businesses of Los Angeles.
In 2012, Tim joined the company, and things got even more enjoyable. Tim was the excellent counterpart to Frank’s nerdiness—he loved riding motorcycles and had a penchant for driving vintage cars, preferably ones that looked fast but drove slow. He brought a fresh perspective and a lot of energy to AWS Solar, along with a wealth of experience in marketing and sales from his time in the music and art industry. Tim knew how to tell a good story, and he was a master at connecting with people. Together, Frank and Tim made an unexpected but perfect team: Frank with his tech expertise and Tim with his charisma and sales savvy.
Tim helped transform AWS Solar’s outreach, ensuring that homeowners in the Los Angeles area knew they could take control of their ever-increasing electrical bills—without getting bogged down in the technical details.
